Zumba Kids with Ariana Godman

I am so happy that I was blessed with the opportunity to share my love for movement and music with the third graders here at Salvador Allende. We started with a session about Zumba in the classroom. The main purpose was to prepare the children for the zumba experience and go over the rules.

Rules
1. No Talking
2. No Touching, keep your hands to yourself
3. Everyone must participate. No watching
4. Be respectful
5. Have fun and freestyle

Gracia made hand and body movements to go along with each rule to make understanding and remembering the rules easier. Next, the children wrote down the rules and drew pictures next to each representing the meaning visually. It was a great success!

Alfonso, and Eva were very kind and helped make the class possible.
The children behaved fabulously! They remembered the rules, and followed them. It was great to see their smiling faces enjoying moving to the music and singing the words to the songs that they knew. Everyone involved had fun. I think they were motivated to use their English a little more too.

  2. This post seems really interesting to me because it is something different. With it, children are learning Zumba and also to respect the rules but the most important thing is that they have fun. I think children learn the rules better through movements, as Gracia did, due to it is a fun way to do it and it is easier to remember for children.
